I think about the being transgender almost every day. Usually in passing, though I don't talk about it as much anymore. I guess it is a big part of my identity, plus social media loves to send me American anti-trans hate speech. I don't always comment on it because why talk to garbage right? But when I do it is for the benefit for or those that don't have a voice. I've really heard it all - from the ignorance around biology and the idea that boys have somehow evolved to like trucks (because boys loved trucks in the bible). The comments about making kids confused and letting them just be kids, the idea that we are men in bathrooms and we need to protect girls from that, or that we should not compete in women's sports because of the idea that men are so vastly superior it would not be fair. Then there are the comments that it is a mental illness and thus we should torture, rape and murder these people because having a mental illness makes them less than...hang on! That just makes you a fucking monster right? It's like telling someone with cancer they need prayer and isolation, not meds, and btw we are going to beat you up and maybe straight up murder you because cancer makes us uncomfortable. There are a couple things I come back to which is indisputable. Trans people (in this case I mean all the colors of the rainbow of people who don't follow the gender roles assigned at birth) have been around for pretty much our entire history as a species. As sure as humanity birthed in Afrika and were likely dark skinned, you can't erase it no matter how much hate you throw at it. We keep coming back - resilient mother fuckers. We are an integral part of our plasticity as a species so you might as well be cutting off your own arm to punish your dick for liking it more than the other.
We have cultures around the world who wised up, not including those cultures who had it in the past. For example, the Zapotec culture of Oaxaca in Mexico has a third gender category called muxes, who are people who mix male and feminine qualities  (Damn they are sooooo beautiful!). Hijras are considered a third gender in India and are often mentioned in Hindu writings. They even have their own ancient language, Hijras Farsi. They are also recognized in Pakistan and Bangladesh. In Thailand there are the Kathoey. In Samoa Fa'afafine is a term used to describe people who are born biologically male but have both masculine and feminine traits. Fa'afafines are considered an important part of Samoan culture, though Christianity has made inroads into eroding that. The Sakalava people of Madagascar recognize the sekrata as a gender category of its own. Sekratas are people who have a male body but identify as female. A baklâ, bayot, or agi is a person who was assigned male at birth but usually has feminine mannerisms and dresses as a woman in the Phalippines. Nepal recognises third gender and in my home country of Aotearoa "free-er than USA fight me over it" New Zealand we have legal identity for gender diversity includes transgender and intersex people, cross-dressers, drag performers, and non-binary gender identities.
Interestingly a lot of these are more in the male to female direction....I'm not sure why to be honest. Any thoughts on this? I do wonder if I had been born with a female body would I just have rolled with the women label? IDK.
Now some questions for you - how many men dress as women just to access women's bathrooms for anything other than peeing and pooping vs how many men dressed as men sneak into women's bathrooms for nefarious reasons? Who proportionately does the most harm to women - trans people or non-trans people? Out of all the trans athletes in professional sport (there are more than you would think), what proportion dominate that sport? I can only think of one who is mountain biker. How much did those 'superior' male genetics help the trans-weightlifter at those Olympics I forget which one? I'm not saying trans people are perfect. We contain the same potential as scum to saint as any other people. You can't hold one up as an example for all. However, no doubt we are one of the most marginalized groups topping charts when it comes to being sexuality assaulted, murdered, homelessness, and quite understandably bad mental health outcomes, suicide statistics etc... Overwhelmingly though trans people just want to live, be productive members of society, pay the bills, have families, and have the same choices open to them like any other cisgendered person (cisgender is not a slur by the way, it just means you are not trans. If you are offended being called that term maybe you are trans). I also want to point out heterosexuality and homonormativity is pretty unnatural and disgusting when you think about it- like for real ladies, why would you rather fuck some hairy oafs and not delicious babes? But also it is obvious straight men naturally love cock which is why they send a lot of pictures of their own and worship the homoerotic bodies of buff men and desire abs that only sucking cock or gagging down protean shakes and hanging out with other equally buff men can reliably get you... And lets not forget fucking someone of a different sex is gross and generally disappointingly brief - like two different species going at it. Despite all this I still respect your right to do these things with consent. Just as I respect the straight men who like to be pegged by a delicious babe with a strap-on (oh so delicious), or the women that get hot and bothered by their men cleaning the house in a French-maid outfit, you do you (and you get a clean fucking house! bonus).
Shitting on trans people (outside some German fecal kink between consenting parties) is just punching down. It's like kicking the little kid who has no friends. Do something better with your life. Shit on those who want to make it harder for others who just want to live lives with dignity. That takes guts. That is what hero's are made of. That and taking a 12 inch dildo the width of a coke can in the rear. You know who you are and who you could be with some bravery and a whole lot of lube.
Oh we have a song!
